Activities in the Air

Ride a Biplane!
  • HeliCo Sonoma offers a variety of tours based on your interests and budget. Starting at about $145 per person, you can fly over the Alexander Valley vineyards. For $290 per person, you can explore the breathtaking Redwood Coast or you can have a private tour with wine tastings for $425+ per person. Perfect for a unique date day, proposal, wedding party or a corporate event, Helico Sonoma won’t disappoint. Check out their IG or website to book.
  • Aloft Hot Air Ballon is another unique and romantic way to spend a day in wine country. Wake up early in the morning, jump on the balloon and enjoy beautiful Napa vineyards from the bird view. You won’t believe how smooth the hot air balloon ride is. It’s a unique way to see Napa Valley and impress your date.
  • Biplane Flights at the Vintage Airplanes airport located in Sonoma, is an exciting way to spice up your day in wine country.Experience the thrill of inverting to “down is up” in an open cockpit; pull up into a Loop, a Barrel Roll and a Hammer Head – and if you’re still “thumbs up” and smiling, here we go into the famous Cuban Eight!
  • Sonoma Canopy Tours is the perfect way to spend a day and get a little more adventurous. They offer a few different rides starting at $99 per person. The classic ride includes 7 ziplines, speeds of up to 30 miles per hour, sky bridges and a rappel. So cool! Make it more special by booking a sunset/night tour.

Animal Activities

  • Safari West offers an upclose and personal experience with lovely animals like cheetahs, giraffes, monkeys, etc. It’s a great alternative to a day at the zoo or expensive trip to South Africa. Tours start at $85 for a 3 hour excursion. I recommend spending the night at the resort in one of  their “tents”, get a good nights sleep and enjoy breakfast in the morning. You can even add a one hour massage to your reservation for only $100.00 or a 90-minute massage for $150.00.
  • Napa Valley Trail Rides is a must when in Napa. Located 10 minuted away from downtown Napa, you can choose to do a scenic vineyard horse back ride (30 minute or more) before heading to wine tasting. The horse are majestic, well taken care of and the grounds are beautiful.
  • Charlie’s Acres is a Sonoma animal sanctuary located just outside of downtown. A little known, must stop. The petting zoo of your dreams, Charlie’s Acre’s offers guided group tours, private tours, and even Goat Yoga! Not only will you enjoy your visit and get to meet some amazing animals, you’ll know that your ticket fee goes to a great cause, helping animals that might not otherwise have a home.

Restaurants

Lunch at lou's lunchette
Lou’s Lunchette
  • Lou’s Luncheonette – wine country Southern comfort food staple offers a laid back backyard setting with pingpong table, large wine and beer selection, and perhaps the best fried chicken in wine country.
  • TC Provisions – what’s more millennial than selling your Tesla stock to open a restaurant?! French trained chef, opened his own restaurant in the middle of the pandemic and the quality of food and service is out of this world! We have told Chef Stephane multiple times, he’s on the way to Michelin Star!
  • Brasswood – more upscale seated experience for Italian fare. Mozzarella pulled to order is a must!
  • Bistro Don Giovanni – you can never go wrong with the best Italian in town. Try the fried Olives.
  • Tasca Tasca – Portuguese tapas in downtown Sonoma is a great spot to try a ton of different shared plates with some wine. The service is friendly, fast and accommodating.
  • Gott’s – no visit to wine country should go without eating at the Gott’s. The best burgers, fried chicken, salads, even seafood items available for a quick bite between wine tastings. Our guests love stopping at Gott’s burger for lunch.

Here you go, save the list and revisit once we’re able to get outside and enjoy our lives! Sonoma is a beautiful place to live and visit so take advantage of these unique adventures that are waiting for you! Plus, it’s a great way to giveback and support local businesses. Cheers!
